Student Policies

This policy section summarizes the key rules governing examinations, resits, academic integrity, and progression, in line with the official SSM catalog.

Attendance Expectations

Students are expected to:

  • Attend scheduled live online sessions

  • Engage with recorded sessions within the instructional week

  • Complete graded activities and assignments

  • Participate in group discussions and academic activities

Attendance Codes

Attendance is recorded using the following codes:

P
P – Present
O
O – Online Participation
T
T – Tardy
A
A – Absent

Attendance records are maintained through the LMS and SIS systems.

Absence Policy

Students are permitted a maximum of two absences per course per month.

Excused absences require:

  • Valid supporting documentation

  • Submission within three calendar days

Non-Attendance & Dismissal

Students may face administrative withdrawal if they:

  • Accumulate more than three consecutive unexcused absences

  • Exceed 32 hours of unexcused absences in an academic year

Dismissed students may be required to reapply for admission.

Academic Probation & Suspension

Students who fail to maintain academic requirements may be placed on probation or suspension.

Students on suspension must meet with academic leadership before readmission decisions are made.

Appeals Process

Students may appeal academic suspension decisions by:

  • Submitting a written appeal

  • Providing supporting documentation

  • Meeting institutional deadlines

Appeals are reviewed by the Program Director and may be escalated to the Dean if necessary.
